EON’s Chair and co-founder, Caroline de Mori, has been awarded as a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day 2021 Honours List.

The Governor-General and Chancellor of the Order of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) announced the special awards which recognise outstanding and inspirational Australians.

Caroline was recognised for her significant service to remote Indigenous communities – and to land management.

The award is a testament to Caroline’s passion, tenacity and determination to address the inequalities she observed earlier in her successful business career when travelling to remote parts of Western Australia.

Caroline’s vision inspired EON’s beginnings 15 years ago. And it has continued to shape the organisation and lead us to the present, where we can proudly  acknowledge our Thriving Communities Program has been delivered to 37 communities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory, engaging and educating thousands of children and their families about the vital link between nutrition and health.

The Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia will formally invest Western Australian recipients with the insignia of their appointments and awards at an Investiture Ceremony in April.
